Based in Lexington, Kentucky, Caleb Paul is a multidisciplinary artist who received his BFA from Morehead State University in 2021. Having only been involved in ceramics since 2019, his work is largely based on his prior experience as a sculptor and painter. He currently serves as an art educator, alongside independently working towards finding his own sense of belonging in ceramics
"Experience is something that changes from each person you talk to. From the amount of time that I have had to work with clay, I've learned that my work is just a vessel to form a conversation. Are the experiences we face more common than we would like to think? Inspired by the blunt and sometimes comical nature of psychology and representation, I hope that my work provokes an understanding that personal experiences are often completely universal. Nobody's alone, nobody's left out.
My work is ugly, and I find that delightful."
