Emily Ridings

Emily Ridings explores modern applications of ancestral craft, focused in basketry and clothing. Each piece is a celebration of process led by intuition, innovation, and play. Pieces are created entirely by hand with an emphasis on circular production. There is a narrative throughout every piece, fusing tradition with presence and skill with curiosity.

Emily received a BFA in Fashion Design from Pratt Institute and learned to weave from her grandmother, Judy Ridings. Features of her work include Vogue and Garden & Gun. Emily is a Kentucky native based in Lexington, KY.
