Philip Moulthrop created this ambitious bundled mosaic bowl using a technique that he pioneered in the 1990's. He created this labor-intensive method because he wanted to make forms using multiple woods in contrast to his well known vessels made from a single piece of wood. Moulthrop mixes branches of different woods with black resin to create these vessels. This bundled mosaic vessel is made of pine, mahonia, oak, sweet gum and maple and measures 8.25" x 8.75".
