Philip Moulthrop created this ambitious mosaic bowl using a technique that he pioneered in the 1990's. He created this labor-intensive method because he wanted to make forms using multiple woods in contrast to his well known vessels made from a single piece of wood. Moulthrop mixes branches of different woods with black resin to create these vessels. This mosaic vessel is made of white pine and measures 9.5" x 13 x 13”.
